meh i use teh facebook and myspace. both have their pros and cons!

Nope. Several reasons:

1. You know you were lucky to get me to even do myspace

2. Every resident and student at college is on facebook. I don't want to have a visible presence there, yet I still want old friends to be able to look me up and find me.

all we'll get is a picture of your ugly mug until you add us as friends

hell, I don't even have you added on myspace

Sure, you'll get friends requests from people on campus, but you hit the no button and they'll understand. A lot of people see myspace/facebook as a popularity contest, so they'll just randomly add people. Just don't fall into that trap and it won't be a big deal.

I can't recall the last time I've seen a profile not on private. You can't see anything unless you are friends.

I don't even want them finding me there.

There was an article in the student paper at EMU about which administrators on campus had facebook accounts and what they were doing with them, and it was damning. I don;t even want to touch it.

So set up the account with a false name/e-mail. Then just the people you want to find it will.

Wow! I really didn't know facebook was such a taboo. What did they construe these people were doing with the accounts? What nefarious deeds could one get up to? Let's find the vicious underbelly!

No worries, your logic is sound. I do really wonder what people were doing to get people talking though.
