    Movies

Here's the deal. I'm trying to put together a list/collection of movies that all college kids should see. I'm emphasizing the geek crowd.

    Evil Dead movies
    Star Wars 4-6
    Idiocracy
    The Gamers
    Fast Times at Ridgemont High
    Dazed and Confused
    The Hangover
    The Breakfast Club
    Zoolander
    Mel Brooks Movies
Monty Python - Meaning of Life and Holy Grail
    American History X
    Just Visiting
10 Things I Hate About You
    Biodome
    Beetlegeuse
    Zombieland
    The Rocky Horror Picture Show
    Braveheart
    Dogma
Donnie Darko - S. Darko sucks btw
    Full Metal Jacket
    Gremlins
    Ghostbusters
    Hot Fuzz
    Animal House
    Office Space
    Police Academy
    Shaun of the Dead
    Starship Troopers

I'm sure I'm missing a bunch. Help me out.

The two obvious ones I question being on this list I have looked up the RT rating for and placed next to them. There are a lot here I wouldn;t even consider close to essential or must sees, like American History X or Starship Troopers. If you are aiming at the college/geek crowd, I would have expect something like Return of the Nerds on there. Why have high school films as essentials for college kids to see? Do you really thing 10 Things I hate About You or Ridgemont High will resonate with them? That these HS films are essential for college students? Similarly, do you think the office humor for Office Space will resonate with those who have not worked full time for companies?

    Re: Movies

Because of how bad it is, and high UIC factor, perhaps Mazes and Monsters. Very geek /nerd
