FINALLY!!!!!!

My goal for next season was to run 12.40's without doing anything else with my setup (don't have the funds, but saving for next winter for buildup).
Then on Sun (11-19) at ATCO raceway in NJ, my first pass of the day was a 12.41@111. I could not believe it. I was thinking, that might have been a flaw so I had to back it up. Next pass (in brackets, real good race against a 5th gen hatch with a prelude motor dialed in @12.70 and me @12.41) He ran a 12.74 and I ran a 12.42@110. It was neck to neck at the end, but I heard him let off at the end.
Anyways, this improprove ment was done by switching to 24.5x8x13 from a 22x8x13 slicks. Prior to the switch, my best 60'ft was a 1.89, then yesterday was a 1.81 and a 1.83.

Forgot one more thing which contributed to those E.T's. Very cold weather (low 40's) and practice with those slicks two days prior @ etown.

How does the cold affect slick's traction?

My Yoko AVSi street tires lose enough grip under 50 degrees that 1st gear, WOT and > 5000rpms is a worthless combination.

Now go scare some domestic iron out there on Rt. 1!

As with traction....this is the coldest weather I ran with these slicks, but these 60'ft's was also the best. I do not think it hurt traction, but practice made it better.
I ran two nights ago at etown, and my 60ft was an avg of 1.91. Then on the way home, I thought of other ways to launch better.

As for racing on the streets, Ilearned my lesson last year when I got a ticket for "racing on highway". That's what it said on the ticket. I got it right on rt 1. in Edison. I was racing a GTI VR6. It was an automatic 5pts....so I had to get a lawyer and dropped it to 3pts. So I still have my license. but I still do it once in a while, but not rt 1.
