rich=detonation?

I got code 45 the other day aftersuspecting i was running a little rich, and getting the code confirmed it. i have the v-afc so i am toning down the mix a little and that has seemed to help for the time being. anyway, i wanted to ask if running rich increases detonation. i have been hearing this noise kinda like ch-ch-ch-ch-ch when i am cruising. sounds like under my feet more than in the engine bay. but when i punch the gas it goes away, only doe it when cruising, anybody know if this might be detonation or what else it might be??

It sounds to me like a leak on the header-cat flange. Try tightening the spring bolts.

Mine only had a leak once at high rpm. Your's might leak only when the engine is in a certain position.

relay noise?? were did you mount it??

i will check the header cat connection, it doesnt seem to be the relay, just worried about detonation, any chance this sound is detonation? i assume detonation sounds like it is coming from the engine bay and not down at the bootom of the car??

don't think it is detenation.. that only occurs when running lean. sounds like marbles rattling around. As for the noise.. do you hear it at lets say 10 mph?? donno but i really suspect the rely hear if it is mounted against the fire wall.
