Has anyone upgraded their differential to a limited slip?
Were there significant performance increases?

OE Type R LSD=no change in drag racing, big difference in autoX.
KAAZ=most i know say its either too grippy or too loose, and makes noises.
Quaiffe(sp?)=Cream of the crop with warranty and price, id say the one to have if available.
Phantom Grip=you get what you pay for...personally saw one shattered.

I'm running an oem lsd in my GSR tranny and when I was running 200+ whp it was a necessary mod. I'm now running the same tranny on my stock B20 and I don't really notice it. Once I get an answer to my thread, I'll let you know how it fares in a torquey setup like an M62 powered B20.

I had a feeling the phantom grip looked too good to be true.

I'm running a Quaife in my YS1 tranny. I love it. It's the best of the best and worth every damn penny!

I run a phantom grip, and thousands of others have to. I have 20 k on my phantom grip, with no problems. That post was the first one over that i have seen ANYWHERE saying one failed.
On the other hand, I have seen alot posts of people with Kahz/Type R's that have busted, so Go figure. Kahz's are famous for shitty breakin's that never work, and "chattering".
Now I am not advocating choosing a phantom grip over say a Quaife, but if you are not running insane amounts of HP (and even then) PG's are not a bad option (especially if you are strapped for cash). What's the worst that can happen? A busted Open diff? If that ever happens, Oh Darn. I'll just go get a new type-r or quaife, and only be out $200 bucks.
Some people actually prefer the PG over other LSD's (i prefer it over my friends type-r). I get better 60's and autocross better than him, and his car is faster than mine (same suspension setup). granted i could be a better driver, but who knows.
A car in my area runs a 11.5 with a phantom grip, and there are also some 9-10 second hondas with them as well...
When you get in those HP ranges there may be problems, but I cannot forsee any problems once I go JRSC in june.

From what Ive seen, R LSD's have made a huge difference in all aspects, including traction for dragging.
I plan on going with an R LSD very soon, cant beat the price. Mouhad - what exactly happened? I havent heard of anything like that before...do you think it was a defect?
