Ok, I guess I'll throw in my two cents.

The Zdyne SECU and the Hondata are similar. However, the Zdyne offers the ability to tune the car with a laptop WITHOUT burning chips and while the car is running. The only advantage the Hondata unit has is the datalogging. However, if this is such a useful feature you can bet Zdyne will be offering it soon.

Zdyne costs around 950 for the reprogrammable gold version while Hondata costs 900 for stage 4 plus 300 for the boost option. So you are at $1200 plus you still have to buy a $500 EPROM burner and chips. Do you want to have to burn a new chip every time you change the configuraton of your setup?

It seems like Zdyne has invested more R&D into their ECU conversions. A lot of the stuff that has been on their website for months is suddenly appearing on the Hondata site. I doubt it's coincidental.

i have the hondata ecu running in my car, and i will say it is amazing. If you went ahead and looked at all the demo videos on their page, it works just like they say.. full throttle shift etc.. the best part is realtime datalogging. I am the only one running one in a boosted car in the us so i havent been able to get any other feedback from people as far as tips/tricks. I ordered my rom burner and will start tuning it soon. Just by slapping it on with my turbo system, it runs extreamely well with no tuning.. i couldnt believe it. By the way marc, you can get an EEPROM for hondata so you can continually reburn the chip.. you still have to flash the rom in the SECU so there isnt much difference.

Thanks, True. I knew someone out there had one. I've talked to a guy at Hondata quite a few times, and the people sound very knowledgeable. Did you hear they were moving to the US? How much did it cost you? Where did you get it from? Thanks. Tom

they have a us distributer already...didn't hear that the entire operation was coming over. Anyways, Locash Racing sells them http://www.locashracing.com I paid around 1k for it. well worth it in my opinion. i like to think of it as plug and play dfi
