    Talking

Right now I am in the process of trying to get the most out of the 280s. I am installing the high-pressure pump and a larger fuel rail (hopefully this weekend). We just couldn't get the 310s to work below 3000 rpms, as soon as you turned the key you were inundated with the smell of fuel and the car usually wouldn't start (this was with the fuel pressure bottomed out and the shogun taking out as much fuel as it could). Once you got it going and got up in the revs, well, like Will said, it was fast as f@ck!

So now I am trying to see if I can get the same kind of top-end with the 280s and still have a streetable car. I'll let you know how it goes.

BTW CROM (if you read this), how much longer are you going to be in the area? I wanted to get this stuff in my car before we meet up.

Well, I am going to leave for school probably next Friday or Saturday, I am getting a new clutch and my tranny fixed on Tuesday, so Thursday would probably be a good day to meet up.....email me at [email protected] or message me back on the board to let me know...I can't wait to hitch a ride in your car and hopefully you can give me some tips for my 10 psi setup in the near future! If earlier in the week is better, I can just bring my Supra instead..

    Question

MrBurns and 1fst- so you guys tried the 310's when you were down in Bama? I guess the only thing I am hung up on is that everything coming out of the Endyn camp says that the B&M (mechanical rather electrical) can remove the fuel on the bottom side effectively and efficiently. I am pretty sure this is on their B16's but I would think it will hold for us too. But I guess all we can do is wait to see what Larry says about the install technique and tuning. I was told that they have zero problems with these setups but I might have been misinform. I'm not holding my breath but I can't wait to hear results from their latest mods with the B&M and JR FPR smile

The problem with all of these Fuel Controller add-ons is that they do not control the injectors directly. You can still only shut an injector down as low as the ECU will go, which is about 1.1 msecs. The only thing lower that the ECU knows is "off". Therefore, you can tune to your hearts content with the Apex or Shogun, and you will still be getting too much fuel with 270's or 310's at idle. The engine does not need 50psi even with the stock injectors, but you can compensate for them a little. The only solution is to turn down the fuel preassure, below stock for larger injectors. The problem is that the Jackson riser is indexed so that it will not drop below 50psi as long as it is hooked up. That is why you need not only an adjustable regulator (like the B&M or Paxton) but also a fully adjustable Riser. I am currently looking at the Cartech Riser, which can be adjusted from 1:1 up to 7:1 ratio on boost. You can also adjust the onset, so the riser kicks in at 1psi-7psi. For greater needs they have one that can adjust from 2:1 up to 15:1. Thus, with idle preassure tuned down to 35-40psi, you could have the on-boost preassure tuned to cap out at 85-90psi. This combo should work well with any injector configuration. I am working on some research right now and will hopefully come up with a viable solution in the next month or so.

Agree 100% Geekman! I am going to run 370cc injectors for my new setup and lower the idle pressure to around 40 psi and raise is around 2.5:1 for each pound of boost. Please keep me informed on the adjustable regulator. Very interested since we are doing the same research.

Man, with 370's you are going to want about 30psi of fuel preassure. You will be pushing so much fuel at idle... Actually, if you are increasing the displacement, you could use a little extra fuel at idle, or if you have a very aggresive cam tuning. Otherwise, 30psi is as high as I would go with 370's.

Where can you get the plug in RC 280's??? Would there be an advantage with these at 6psi until I go 8psi?

No the 280cc injectors come from Venom not RC. But your car would run a little rich, but in my opinion would make more power on the top side.

Would the 280's be adequate for 10 psi?

So if I were to put in 310's right now, I would need some way of turning down the pressure at lower RPM's right? Wouldnt the Shogun tuner perform this option or any of the other fuel tuning devices out there?
