Hmmm this can be many things, spark plugs, wires, distributer, fuel filter, etc.

Best way to check is to check the code on the ECU under the passengers footboard. It will have a blinking light, count them and we can tell you what is going on.

My car sputters if I let it sit for a week without driving it. I could drive it for a 1/2 hour and it will finally go away till the next time I let it sit.

as Eric suggested, you should check your spark plugs and wires.

have you noticed any other problems? how is the car on a "cold" start in the morning?
