emblems

[88CiViC_DX]

I was wondering if I took off the honda word emblem and the dx off the back would there be holes behind them?or are they just glued on. I know on my friends 91 4 door they had holes but i didnt know if my car would be different.BTW... Its A 88 DX hatch.

you can take off everything but the 'H' logo. it has holes behind it.

So the HONDA emblem is just glued on right? I was just going to shave all of mine off but I decided that I needed a new computer more than a new paintjob.

Your best bet is to get some dental floss, and use it to pull off the emblem. Its actually a double sided tape. I slided the dental floss back and fourth and it then came off. I then used a Wax remover to get off the remaining glue/tape. I had a shop weld the holes shut so they wouldnt crack in time.

I own a 91 DX hatch, I didnt like the "Honda" or the "DX" on the back so i pried em off, also breaking them But they came off, its 11 years old but its just a kind of thick, sticky tape that remains. It stuck to the car so I just used some sticker remover stuff and it came off clean along with some scratching with a paint scraper (careful not to scratch the paint). The only thing that has holes on the car are your two "H" emblems on the front and back.

Actually the 4 doors have has 2 holes behind the honda emblem, but not the hatches.

Yeah I'm still deciding whether to paint mine or not, gosh I mean most people in my position would go ahead and do it but I'm still debating. We have a welder here at the house and can do all the body work here, and my dad has a friend that he built a tranny for who just happens to paint cars at a cadillac/BMW dealership. I could probably get it all done for like $400 or so, what do yall think I should do? Do you have to put some kind of special treatment on the grey bumpers to paint them or can you just sand them down, primer them, and paint them with non-hardening paint?

Hehe, nice black bumpers WHOO! anyways, why not just go to a paint store and get a paint match put in a can. Go ahead and give it a whirl, Real good chances are that it will look fine.

Give the bumpers a scrub, dry, add a couple layers of paint. Wait a couple days and then add some clear coat. That couldnt cost anywhere near $400, more like $50. I own a 91 so im fortunate enough to have my bumpers already painted.

Think of the savings if you just make it a DIY jobby!
