man! Im so damn piss off!
I just got a Black widow alarm installed with pager & f****ng car starts dying like crazy!
The guys from the stereo system say is not the alarm, but the car was running fine way before i got the alarm. They disconnected the switch to turn on the engine and the car starts but won't run high. I can only drive it up to 40mph!!!! S**it!!!!
These are the new stuff I got for my car...Just want my car to run good!!!!
1. new two fuel injectors(dual pt)
2. replace the air valve control
3. rebuilt alternator with 110amp
4. new optima blue battery
5. new fuel filter
6. new oxy sensor
7. replace the transmission solenoid
8. new distributor
9. new spark plug wires
10. replace engine with a newer 40k miles
Sorry but I need it to get all my frustation out. The ecu was giving all kinds of errors as codes 4,7 & 8. Then resetting the ecu LATER gave me 4 & 16...
Can u guys help me? Is it an electrical problem or what else???

i hate to say it but i stand behind the installer on this one. my man is an installer. they got a new SunFire in and those cars have airbags that are controlled through the stock stereo. so in order to get a new stereo the old one has to be installed in the trunk and run a huge wire harness that reaches from dash to trunk. anyways he did that and then installed the new stereo. a week later the girl comes back and says her dash is now dim and then after that the car died...yada, yada, yada. after a bunch of b.s. and her accusing jer of blowing up the ECU of her car, it turns out the dealership caused the problems and never told her (hoping she would never notice )

now, keeping that in mind the 2 ECU codes you are getting are:
code 4: Crank angle sensor
code 16: Fuel injector

i'm thinking you might be having troubles with the fuel injector. it might be your new ones or the old ones still left.

i totally understand your frustration. i took my car down for a simple head gasket replacement. less than a month later the new gasket blew and i had to spend $400 (a second time) to get it fixed again. now i'm having a whole mess of new troubles. i'm ready to push my car in the river

Just talk to troublemaker-vtec and he said that depending of the installation, they have may caused a short cut to the ecu and messing it up. The stereo place "never" unplug the battery. I was there watching them all the time and the battery was connected. Can't be the fuel injectors, they are brand new from the dealer! And Jon says that the crank angle sensors hardly ever go bad. Man, was running "perfectly" good before they put the alarm.
And I haven't take my car to the dealer at all, but if I have to put a new ecu because they mess it up, I'm NOT gonna be happy!

i asked jer about this. he has been installing for 5 years. he was taught by and worked side by side (for the last 5 yrs) with a guy who has had his master installer's cert. for 20 years. jer said he never disconnects the battery because you need to test wires for power and such. he says those are odd problems you are having to be linked with an alarm install. however there is a possiblitly they screwed up one of the features of the alarm.

if you are certain they did it you need to go back and insist/demand they yank everything out, get their happy asses on the phone with tech. support, and have them re-install it. if they don't want to do that then tell them you are dropping the car off at Honda and having them re-install it and fix whatever else problems they find and you'll be sending the bill to the stereo shop.

but before you do that think long and hard about any prior problems. keeping in mind the chick with the SunFire. it was brand new and she was 100% positive it was jer who screwed it up when in fact it was the dealership...she just didn't notice the dim dash and other problems. car dealership's can be evil! you wouldn't believe some of the stories i have heard and seen over the last 5 years.

anyways, 9 times out of 10 a steroe shop would rather spend the time fixing it rather than paying Honda's bill for fixing it.

PS. i almost forgot! next time you talk to troublemaker, tell him we're all meeting up. it'll either be july 27th or 28th. i know it will be in the san frenando valley some where. i'm gonna be in a wedding that weekend so i'm 99% sure i'll be down there.

as soon as a good place is found and a date is set for sure, i'll let you and troublemaker know so you guys can spread the word down at your end . you guys should meet up and cruise to SF valley together. i'm pretty sure henry and i am going to meet up in SCV and cruise down together (and whoever else).

Thanks Ami, I appreciate your help.
Got my car fix today. I took my car to the stereo place again and it was one of the cables connector to the distributor, the crank angle sensor. For some reason while they were connecting the starter feature (hooking up stuff to the engine) they must have pull the cable by accident. Anyways, they molded it back together, and the car runs fine now. I'm gonna have to check the other wires just in case.
I'm sorry if I was a bit furious, it's just that I guess nobody likes car problems...
Well, I totally would love to get together with u guys. I'd like to meet the people who have been helping me so much and of course, CHECK OUT YOUR RIDES !
