This is just a reminder of something I had already said. Please note that this message is not directed to anybody in particular - I had thought of saying this last week, but I didn't because of time. So here goes it:
***People please keep your signatures SMALL!!***
I've been seeing longer and longer signatures from day to day. Listen, now it's not only just a mere aesthetics thing. It's about [i]speed[/b]. You know very well that this board host is great in everything but speed, and by using such long signatures all you're doing is to make it worse for other users and yourself!
To illustrate this, I'll take a look at, for example, a page view of the photo album thread on page 10.
- The HTML you download to get the page 86130 bytes long.
- Out of these 86130 bytes, only 7880 bytes are for the real posts - the rest is for formatting, titles, avatars, etc.
- Out of the 7880 bytes of text in posts, a whooping 5926 bytes is used for signatures!! That's right, sigs take MORE space than the posts text itself.
- 75% of the space used for the post text is for sigs! Only 1 out of every 4 bytes of post text is for the actual piece of text you've posted!
- Consequently, when you load a thread page like that, you spend more time waiting for sigs to be downloaded than for the actual text you want to see! I hope you understand that this is just ridiculous.
And I hope this opens your eyes at last. It's not that I'm a mean, unfriendly mod that doesn't like long sigs, it's about the speed of your board! The smaller you make your sig, the faster pages will load for YOU and for everybody else!
So please, keep your sigs as short as possible. One liners would be great. Besides, the best sigs I can remember are just short but clever phrases.

I have definitely noticed this, and even more when you look at threads that certain peole post on that have long sigs. They take almost twice as long to load.

Which should I use?
Amelia: Lina-san! You're great!
Lina: Yeah, I suppose. You should compliment me more!
Amelia: Lina-san! What will we do?!
Lina: That's a good question, actually...
Lina: This situation has gotten too serious to make puns!
Lina: 'Working to help people makes you feel so good!' Oh, who thought THAT one up?!
Lina: Free work! The businessman's blood that flows in me can't forgive anything like that!
Amelia: You say that, but still eat on another person's credit!
Must have new quote! Choose!
