I'm really starting to finally get into the Sonic games, I've beaten Sonic 2 (as both Sonic and Knuckles) (I LOVE the music in this game) and Sonic 3 (I was really disappointed by it..) so... yeah..

Which one should I play next? I probably should get around to sonic 1, but blah, I don't really want to.

Just an aside, who is your favourite character?

Did you beat Sonic 3 and Knuckles? That's my fave 2D Sonic game... I preferred SA over the rest.

Hmm, how different is Sonic 3 and Knuckles? If it's just the same basic game then I'm not even going to bother.

Sonic Adventure is for the DC.. are there any good DC emulators out there?

Or is it for the Saturn? Blah.

don't play S3 or S&K separately) is to me the best 2D Sonic game ever, and one of the best Sonic games ever. Some people didn't like the new Sonic look, but I think it was the best he ever got; he's a cool, matured character there, not the new rap freak-drawn-with-2-colors look he has in drawings and GBA games.

I think you should play Sonic 3 & Knuckles (if you don't have this, but have the S3 and S&K ROMs, I can explain you how to combine them, it's real easy). Then you might want to play Sonic 1, which is slower paced, but has nice music. Or you might be interested in the addictive 3D bonus game of S&K+Sonic 1.

Remember Dreamcast emulation is illegal unless you own the console and the game. Even so, there's not a good DC emulator yet, as it's a complex and powerful console (more than most think, and better than the PS2 overall, though easier to emulate), and even if we had an accurate emulator, you couldn't possibly run it at a decent speed with today's computers unless it was a HLE emulator.

Sonic Adventure is also available for the Nintendo GameCube, and will soon be/is available for PCs.

I still recommend you to get a DC if you like its games; it has a few really good games like Shenmue 1&2, Sonic Adventure 1&2, Grandia II (best version of by far), Soul Calibur, and many more.

IRT CBA: No warez-related contents are allowed in the board, sorry. Would get it closed if we did. Plus it's wrong. It's ok to say you can download a dump of the game if you own the game, or how to emulate very old consoles the companies don't care about. But the Dreamcast is still on the market and even if it wasn't, sega would care (even though they actually didn't give a damn for the hardware and killed it themselves being so stupid).

As you can see, there are a zillion Sonic games, and I haven't listed another 10 or so which are less important. If you like the traditional action Sonics I recommend playing the games 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 in my list.

Sonic Heroes is good. It's about the action for the most part.

I think Sega has figured out by now people don't want knuckles/tails/robotnik/rouge levels and they want Sonic levels and Shadow levels.

Don't ever understimate sega's stupidity. And remember it's been 10 years without a REAL, 100%, regular Sonic game (last one was S3&K). The closest thing so far was Sonic Adventure, and it has been 5 years since it. And they know we want them.

Shenmue, one of the best sagas ever, made out of two of the best games ever.
Shenmue, one of the sagas most bullshitted about ever. And the #1 and #2 bullshitters were Yu Suzuki and sega.

Shenmue is so good, it hurts to see Suzuki and sega like "We'll post news soon! he he", then "Ok, here are the news: got you! ha ha ha", then "We'll release Shenmue 3 someday", then "but it might be in 20 years", then "don't worry, I want to make it as soon as possible", then "OMG images!", then "ha ha ha, those were from an alpha in the DC", then...
