    Question

    1. Now that Christopher's work schedule is back to normal, are we going to return to 7:30-10:30 or staying with 8:00-10:30? I asked Friday but didn't see any response at that time.

    2. Friday is the last Friday of the month. We haven't played the lower level group for 2-3 months now due to various reasons. Which set of character's are we going to play?

Good point, though I did not catch the question.

I am good with starting at 7:30, but if mark is having trouble making it, we can go back to 8.

I am more than happy to run the lowbies, though everyone seemed to have preferred the higher level ones lately.

If we go that route, it gives everyone an extra week to work on their level increases.

Let me know how you all feel.

Honestly I have lost touch with my low level character. As Nancy stated it has been awhile and maybe even much longer for me since I have been awol alot for those sessions.

I have have considered dropping out completely from that group because of my schedule and just using that night to sleep since I have early Saturday morning work but I do enjoy ALL of our adventures so will play Finley this Friday if that is what everyone wants to do. You know where my heart is but I will be glad to play the lowbies.

Starting back at 1830 to 2130 schedule is great for me. It will keep me from taking a nap and logging in grumpy.

I will look back here at Hostboard to see what group we will be playing. You know my vote.

8 pm works for me too, I'm good either way with high or low characters. I have to also work this Sat morning, so ending at 10:30 as always, works for me

I think we need to reevaluate the use of multiple campaigns/characters at this point. While Mark has hardly given us an ultimatum, he has made it pretty clear in the past that he only wants to play Thaylias. I am left with the dilemma of having one player decide what we play vs. potentially losing a player for some of the play time. None of us wants to see one fewer player when we are now at a minimum, and I certainly don't want someone to be playing out of a feeling of obligation, whose heart is not in it.

So I want to get an honest feeling about how everyone else feels about their secondary back up characters. Do we continue to alternate? Shall we stick with the mains and abandon the others? Do we play these characters into the ground and if they retire or die, start all over? many options are out there, but it is time for some serious discussion, and not mor eof the "I'll go with whatever everyone else wants", a response that is all too coomon recently and not in the least helpful.

Time for some thinking and talking...not avoidance and status quo.

So let's hear it folks. What should we do?

    I personally see both points.

The original intent of the backup characters (of which one party was lost and subsequently resurrected) was to be able to continue to play when one or two of the regular players were unavailable to play on a given game night due to the danger level of being short on the Devonshire, and now, New Tinsdale campaign.

Therefore, I propose a compromise: rather than play the 7th level set on a schedule, we return to playing them when a player is unavailable (such as when Valley has family obligations, or Mark cannot attend.) I have no objections to retiring the present set of characters and starting with a new 1st level character for this purpose if that is what the rest of you decide you want.

The New Tinsdale group just reached 19th level. At 191,000 XP points they will advance to 20th level which is the last level of regular game play. The discussion of whether to go epic or retire never got resolved. The decision of whether to advance to epic game play needs to be addressed fairly soon before the present characters reach 21st level. Personally, I would love to play in an epic game, but I am aware that doing so will require us to obtain at least one new book: the Epic Player's Handbook in order to relearn the game.

    Exclamation

Okay, there are people in life you must listen to when they insist on something: Uncle Sam, Mom & Dad, the Boss...but most importantly, the spouse.

Some friends we seldom see asked my spouse to drag me away from my computer and haul my ass to the movie theater to see the final part of the Pirates trilogy.

I kicked and I screamed and I bitched and I moaned, but temper tantrums do not work with Uncle Sam, Mom, Dad, the Boss or...the spouse.

So rather than flinging monsters at you from afar, I must go watch swashbucklers buckling their swash.

We will...spouse permitting...return you to your regularly scheduled gaming next week.

    At 7:30
