Begin construction of...what? castles? houses? manors? temples?
Shopping prior to leaving (how many ways does the party have to fly? Oak will seek a ring or broom of flying, or perhaps a mount!)

Okay...lots to do...you need to help me figure out an order, but more importantly, how much of this stuff do you want to play out and how much can be an "assume it got done"? As a DM, I have no problems allowing you ample time to role play. That's part of the game some of you enjoy most. On the otehr hand, some players may be itching to get into action again...or not..I don't know and that is why I am asking [img]smile.gif[/img]

The leather Armor is Kel's prize and joy, and for Thurvold it was the spells (And maybe the lich's staff)

Ceremony of promotion to Counthood

For Kel, this would be honorary if anything, so he'd probably not be part of it.As a chieftain, he must not be beholden to the King directly or he'll come across as a subject to the king instead of a leader of his people and might lose their trust. However, wildhorses couldn't drag him away from watching his friends thus elevated.

Thurvold is a bit baffled by this whole human need for ranks (nevermind that dwarves have a monarchy too [img]wink.gif[/img] ) but would tolerate it if that's what others wanted, and if it wouldn't insult the king of the dwarves.

Thaylias and Shanti to wed
Kel and his Frostwolf Princess to wed

The former is, imo, far more important than the later from a player perspective and should receive more attention since it involves TWO PCs instead of just one. I have no problem with Kel's wedding being mostly off screen or assumed.

However, I do need to have Thurvold craft a magic item (Two really) as a gift for the couple if he has time.

Travel to find Dragon Priest

I look forward to this one, as the faith in question is so little known by our characters and players alike. It may require more homework on your part, but if my characters get a chance they might ask the priest for details of his her faith if it isn't insulting. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Travel to Moondawn

Definitely more of interest to Kel than Thurvold. But it can wait compared to finding the Dragon Priest.

Travel to New Tindale

Frequent visits for Thurvold either way (Teleports are wonderful) as he needs to check on the Acedmy progress.

Begin construction of...what? castles? houses? manors? temples?

Thurvold is definitely interested in any help he can get at developing the Academy to its fullest, and making sure there is a lot of underground development around New Tindale for the dwarves who move in (And gnomes too) without (and this is important) accidentally opening up passages to the underdark [img]smile.gif[/img]

Ultimately, it almost might be like a second town under New Tindale (though he plans to make sure that anyone there knows that Thaylias and Shanti rule down there too)

The trip to Moondawn forest is actually intertwined with the search for the Dracos Priesthood now if that's how the PCs want to proceed. [img]smile.gif[/img] More info will be given in game following the festivities currently underway.

It seems most of the loot is taken care of:
Kel has the leather armor
Thurvold has the staff of power, bracers and amulet of the Lich.
Thaylias has the full plate
Shanti has the psionic ring and cloak of res +7
Celene has the Bulwark shield and the Holy Devastator.
Allie has the headband of intellect and pearls.
Oakshade seems to've come out on the short end this time around with only the diamonds and Celene's previous +5 shield of fire res.

All that's left to sort out is what to do with the gems that aren't needed for spell components: sell them, give them to the King as tribute, give them to Oakshade?

As far as permanent flight: Allie's carpet of flying is the only item so far, though there are portions of fly.

As for the other things on the to-do list:

I don't mind RPing out the elevations and wedding(s).

If we're not going to teleport everywhere, I'd suggest we make the trips in this order:
Return to Tinsdale
Go to Kel's village if that is where the wedding will take place. If Kel's gyphon is now trained and old enough, then that could be his flying mount from now own.
Go to Moondawn forest.
Return to Tinsdale.

On the map of the kingdom, that route would be more or less a circuit without too many detours.

Here's also a suggestion for Thurvold if his player and the DM don't mind designing custom items:

Horseshoes of Flying: Overland Flight, Permanency. I suspect they'd cost more or less the same in XP and materials as a Carpet of Flying or Broom of Flight.

I hate to break it to you....

But the King offers land or existing buildings. he never offered to build anything. That is typically the province of the new owener.

The land is the king's. He has expenses and collects rents and taxes...he can't support the kingdom by throwing out money. Loaning men already in the budget or granting unused land or vacant castkles is one thing. Footing the expense for major reconstruction is another.

Thaylias has all intentions of asking Shanti about wedding plans while in Talagon. IC it has been stated that they both have wanted to plan the marriage at a fit time, this may be that chance but that is up to both characters. In other words I want to hear Shanti's (P) input.

One thing that is going to be a burden on Thaylias' conscious is that his mother is laying ill back in Spariticus. Though he is very delighted to see his father and siblings.

During the week while at work I hope to stay busy yet occupy my mind with writing up a family background once and for all. The DM presented a way for me to do that so now its up to me.

Concerning the treasure: Thaylias picked the +6 full plate armor (fire) and is glad he did. He is also going to buy an improved ring of protection while in the capitol city. (This has been worked out with the DM) Thaylias has been dumping remainders of coin into New Tindale coffers while still holding onto a few gems and misc. valuables for personal purchases. He does need to acquire a well suited wedding gift after all which he has not figured out yet. After all, what do you buy someone who reads minds and has it all? [img]smile.gif[/img] In fact I need a price check on a few gems.

As far as the kings offer of estates to be built, he will ask Shanti what she thinks of having a very large lavish one built in New Tindale to share together. Again, that is something she will have to agree to.

Pending plans: I assume we travel to seek the guidance of the draco priest via horses.

Im beat so I may have not answered some of the DM's requests, I'll get back on tomorrow or Wed. to double check. See you all Friday.

And yes, Thay, the buildings and such would have to be either paid from our personal funds or the county coffers. Tinsdale should be stable enough to begin taxing citizens, especially business owners.

So sorry to take so long! I would love to do the wedding as soon as possible, while there is a break in the action, IF the king thinks there is enough time to prepare, as Thay's family is already here (sans mother) and Shanti will not disclose information on her own kin. Definitely think this would be a fun rp event.

As for the housing, we're rec'd a lot of wealth over the past few weeks/months. MORE than enough to build and furnish a lavish home and still donate to the city. I'm sure this can be done with combined treasures?

Here are the costs for various buildings taken from the book. Our personal costs may vary a bit:

Castle: 50,000 GP Furnishings, upkeep extra. The castle is a keep surrounded by a 15-foot stone wall with four towers. The wall is 10 feet thick.

Grand House: 5,000 GP Furnishings, upkeep extra. This four- to ten-room room grand house is made of wood and has a thatched roof.

Huge Castle: 1,000,000 GP Furnishings, upkeep extra. A particularly large keep with numerous associated buildings (stables, forge, granaries, etc.) and an elaborate 20-foot-high wall creating bailey and courtyard areas. The wall has six towers and is 10 feet thick.

Keep: 150,000 GP Furnishings, upkeep extra. This fortified stone building has fifteen to twenty-five rooms.

Mansion: 100,000 GP Furnishings, upkeep extra. This ten- to twenty-room mansion has two to three levels and is made of wood and brick. It has a slate roof.

Tower: 50,000 GP Furnishings, upkeep extra. This round or square, three-level tower is made of stone.

Each of us could likely afford our own individual "Grand House" at these prices. If people pooled funds, we might be able to build a common castle. A mansion might require selling off considerable gear.

Based on these prices: Grand House seems to be the template Leo's using for the New Tinsdale temples.
