So far, the next group of players stand as such. This is not carved in stone, but again, we need more input:
One vote on the Viking-like nordic setting and an "I don't care" vote, puts that setting at the forefront.
Confirmed bids for characters:
Nancy: Dwarven Fighter
Tarra: Human Rogue
Note. These will be all new characters, no reviving old ones.

Just a question, but I'm assuming the same deities?

Seems likely since it's still Fangea. The emphasis might be different...for instance if we'll be playing above the Arctic circle in a land of Midnight Sun and months of darkness, Solaris' significance might be considerably different than near Talagon City where the sun shines daily.

IF we go that venue, I will go into greater detail about religion. What I will say is this. the gods are the same and possess the same names. The attributes the northlanders give those gods will be somewhat different than what you are accustomed to.

Looks like it's a tie between arctic cold and tropical warmth.

I have two avenues of character class I am trying to decide between. The first one may not get approval, a dragon shaman. (Was reading about it in PH2, sounds like a fun challenge.
Second option is playing a mage. Thats the one class I have not managed as yet. Either one will do, I just havent made an affirmative decision yet.
Concerning our new settings environment: I may have this wrong but from what I am reading it sounds like our new characters will reside in an isolated area w/ a concrete ecosystem i.e. tropical or arctic/ tundra. If this is the case I lean more to the tropical side but then again if I play a mage I may not have enough clothing to maintain my needed spell components. But as an ex beach bum, running around half naked isnt so bad.

Actually, no. It was discussed on a previous thread that it might be fun to have this young group of adventurers from a different world in the D&D multiverse or a different part of Fangea. Fangea was decided, so we've been given the opportunity to vote on where we the players would like to start out. The choices are:
Arctic tundra ala Beowulf
Coastal, Seagoing village
Tropical island
Classical farm community between forest and mountains ala Classic D&D
