I rarely stray from ales, but I'll have to give some of these a try.
ARCHIVE this bitch.
I can't wait to get a bottle and stagger down the street singing 'Down South Camp Meeting', just like W.P. Mayhew.

JSC - Blantons is the best I have had. Makers is always a good go-to and knob creek although it bites more than most is very good. All bourbon lovers should hit the bourbon festival in bardstown Ky, - i have been twice (just "happened" to be in Louisville on business and drove over) and had a blast with the hillbillys.
Tennessee whiskey sucks.

Who gives a shit what kind of Bourbon you drink. You're just going to pour Coke in it and squeeze a lime on it, and it will always taste the same.
Now for Blended Scotch Whiskey there is the Famous Grouse
and for Single Malt there is the:
Balvenie double wood
Glen Rothes
Mac 12
Oban
IMHO
ggil
however, for fourth quarter big 12 championships, nothing watches the Major perform better than Jim Beam
fu*k the Buffs
hookem

Finally, someone with an educated opinion. Rack you. When the rest of you amongst the unwashed masses try Blanton's, you will understand.
ggil, maybe you put Coke and lime in that other crap, but Blanton's is perfect with just some ice and water.

I just don't think that good blended whiskey necessarily applies to Bourbon...but hey, I've tried Blantons and it's Ho_Kay. Most Bourbons require blending of lesser grades of mash to begin with, and aging...well you know about that.
I think Famous Grouse is the best of the blends, but I prefer single malts and speysides at that.

Just had to look into this thread again.
I've tried to find Blanton's, but it must not make its way this far north. I'm not about to spend $50+ on a bottle of Bookers, so I decided on Rebel Yell...$10 for 750ml. I don't think there are any Trader Jacks in Connecticut.
This may very well be my last comprehensible post of the night...
