When did the Cumberland District catch up? Those LPD/BDD wanna be's still can't play a competive level of football, basketball, baseball, track or any other boys sports. OK, so the girls vollyball is good in the Cumberland. But that is one sport out of all of the rest.

Colorist or whatever, your name is wannabe's huh, you shouldn't even compare the black diamond with the LPD, the BBD is good for a state runner up about every 8 years. Secondly a cumberland district school dropped the big bad black diamond one a couple of nights ago, and i wouldn't have even mentioned it, if you all BDD people hadn't started talking smack about basketball when the football playoffs had not even started!!!

Cove let me give you a reality check here. BDD is the best in basketball 9 out of 10 times there's still that one time out of ten they might not be the best. The LPD is superior in football 9 out of ten times as well as most of the other sports which no one really cares about but is the cumberland ever worth a **** in anything? I've been racking my brain for a while and I cant think of one cumberland team in a sport that truley matters that is actually good. I'd suggest shuting up now seeing how talking trash like a moron gets you no where and you just **** people off

OK Mr Cove. I am assuming that you are a Rye Cove fan. So here are some of the hard core facts. Your beloved Eagles would have finished no better then fourth in the LPD in football this year. And please don't even try to argue that point, no one in thier right mind could believe that Gate City or Powell Valley wouldn't distroy the Eagles. And after losing to Appalachia like they did, fourth would be the best they could do. And as far as basketball is concerned, my money is on the Black Diamond. When all is said and done, the BDD should have three of the top five teams in the region. With the other two spots coming from the LPD. Yes the Cumberland has improved in alot in of areas over the last few years. But other then volleyball, only the BDD and LPD can go into any season in any sport with realistic chances of winning the region and maybe even state. The one area that I see the greatest improvement at Rye Cove seems to have been overlooked by most people. That being the band. After getting down to about seven or eight players to now closing in on forty five to fifty members. I got to see them this year in Duffield and not only has the numbers increased, so has the quality of music. So please do not get on here and start talking trash about the BDD until you are able to back it up with years of history and not just one game. After all the Cumberland has not had a true consistent contender in all sports since the Pennington Gap Bobcats. Before you start comparing your school to any other school, I must tell you that I graduated from Powell Valley. But I do repect the BDD and CD and after all it was a BDD team that sent my boys home with a season ending loss in football. Not as bad as what a LPD team did to yours, but with the same final results.

First off I will say that I am a graduate of the Cove. But, I like to look at things without being too biased. If you take a look back at the last ten seasons, the teams to advance from Regionals has been fairly balanced between each of the three districts instead of the BDD dominating 9 of 10. Second, colorist I am not here to bring up the past because that is all it is. It has absolutely no baring on this season. If you look throughout the region, you will notice that overall the region is fairly balanced. The Cumberland has faired well with its #1 team beating the #1 of the BDD. The CD #2 (Rye Cove) has beaten the BDD #2 (TV). Although as well the Cove took a drubbing from Haysi this season. So I really would not turn my hand over for much of a difference between the top regional teams this season.

Actually, it wasn't the Pennington Gap Bobcats, it would be Twin Springs in the early 90's a state championship and couple of regional crowns in there, when Stacey and the crew was there, Twin Springs was in contention every year!!!!

um ok!!!!! Listen mr. genius, you must be all of 16, Rye Cove won regions in 2000 last time honaker did, secondly BDD team and won a baseball region in FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!! LPD (Kelly or Coeburn) You'd better just stay with coach hubbard, there great one!!!!

I have a lot of respect for the Cumberland I'm just sayin that overall the LPD and BDD are better. Is 2000 when The Cove beat Appy in football?
