First the basics, if you are going to insult me, at least spell correctly and structure your sentences coherently. Secondly, explain to me how Colon is a problem. He is one of the 10 best pitchers in the AL. He is a rare talent that is not easily replaceable. You are suggesting that the Indians trade him for inferior talent in order to save some $$$$. Explain how that move wil prevent the mass exodus of fans from Jacob's Field which would increase the financial hardship the Indians claim they face.

Also, Roberto Alomar is by far the best 2nd baseman in baseball today. He will continue to be the best for the next few years while the Tribe s rolling out Ricky Gutierrez/Jolbert Cabrera/John MacDonald. That is a huge loss of offense and defense the Indians will suffer. You are the mental deficient that believes the Shapiro off season moves were a benefit. Those moves set the Tribe back immeasurably.

Out of respect to the fans, MAKE a 3-4 year 10 million a year offer, and lets hear if that is acceptable to Thome.

If Thome does not accept that figure, then we can avoid the melodrama that surrounded Albert Belle and Manny Ramirez.

At some point, it would be nice if the fan was respected in the ongoing shenanigans between players, agents, and owners.

ESPECIALLY if Dolan is counting on the fans to fill the stadium. Show the fans some respect, and they will respond.

Thumbs up

All Of My sentences have a subject-verb and a complete thought Dumb-boy.

Againg you demostrate your ignorance by suggesting we sign Colon at any price, you refuse to acknowledge that his weight continues to bloat, he is going to be 30 yrs old when his contract comes up for renewal, he throws more pitches than any other pitcher in the League but yet you want him signed to a deal that will make him one of the highest paid players in baseball. Colon is not Curt Schilling-Roger Clemens or Randy Johnson, he is not worthy of the coin he will demand on the open market.

As for Robbie Alomar, Already he wants his contract torn up by the Mets and wants a five year deal worth 60 million dollars. Oh hell yes lets pay a 36 year old seconbaseman 12-15 million a year that takes him to his 40th birthday, Colon a #2 or #3 starter the same money?? You really are an ignoramous.

Thome has indicated several times that he would take less to stay in Cleveland.

As for Dolan being cheap, please tell me what your 90 million Dollar payroll won us last year? Absolutely nuthing but a typical-meaningless-trivial Central division title, OOOHHH-WOW and a typical first round elimination. Fourth best team in the AL with a 90 mill payroll, yea i get it, great investment rolleyes, Bottom line, an aging team that was going nowhere, ONE player under 30 (Einar Diaz), A team that has not won a playoff series since 1998, not been to a WS since 1997 and Dolan-Shapiro broke up a juggernaunt rolleyes

Keep up the insightful posts Dumb-Boy, they get more retarded all the time.

1. Colon is getting fatter and older as we speak. He doesn't have the fire or the mental facility to be a #1. Trade him next winter.

2. Make Thome a good offer at the break. (11 mil, 4 yrs). If he turns it down, then trade him. The Tribe cannot afford to lose him for nothing.

3. Laugh at the team that gives Robbie 12 mil per when he's 36.

4. Petition Dolan to lock the payroll in where it is now, or sell the team.

5. If Thome leaves, sign Mike Sweeney, even if he wants 12 mil. He's a young RBI-seeking missle on a very bad team.

October,
I am sure they will offer him a pre-emptive contract when they have sole rights at the end of the season. It will be less then his market value, but it will be a decent amount. The team has no reason not to do that.

Spring training game today, the Astros put a huge shift on against Thome. What does Jimmy do? Flies out to right.

That's exasperating.

Why doesn't he at least try to punch it to left? It's spring training, for cryin' out loud. Time to try stuff. If nothing else, it would sure make a team less likely to try it again.

I'll take an "exasperating" hitter with a >1.000 OPS any day.

Angry

Does everyone here forget that Thome has a no trade? It has been clearly written that the negotiations will be held after the season. And that he Will Not be traded. It's not possible. Unless he waives it and that is almost near 0%.

You can bank on this one. Thome will be a Cleveland Indian for life. He is a hometown boy who actually appreciates the idea of playing for one team. You don't find that very often and when you do, you keep it. Not to mention that it will blow over worse than, Belle, Ramirez, or Alomar ever did. Thome is Cleveland baseball. Even someone with blinders on can see that.
