It says in the new Hoynes column that he was invited to spring training.... wasn't this guy a pretty good pitcher a few years back? Do you think he has a chance to make the team?

That reminds of something...every year, there are at least 2-3 names on every team that had a run in the majors, and then dropped off due to injury or they just didn't put up the numbers.
It would be interesting if all of these guys who don't end up making it could be put on their own team.
They could be a "wild card" team, and be a team that every year would make a different state their home.

Link? I couldn't find it on the PD site.
This must mean we signed him to a minor league contract; I didn't see that.
"loser4life"? Is that you, Mike Sopp?

Thanks.
He was one of the top young pitchers in the Brewers org a few years ago. Arm trouble put an end to that.
Let's hope he's over it. He's still only 26.

There are two players named Jeff D'Amico believe it or not. The one invited to Spring Training is Jeff M. D'Amico and is the lesser talented and shorter of the two. He was drafted in the 3rd round by the Oakland A's in 1993 as a shortstop. In '96 the A's gave up on him as an infielder and put him on the mound. He was part of the A's trade to KC for Keven Appier in '99.
Also in the 1993 draft the Brewers took 6 foot 7 inch Jeff D'Amico in the first round. He was (and still is) a pitcher. He has had arm trouble his whole career but has had a few shining stretches in the Show.
He is still with the Brewers recovering from arm problems again. He is the more famous and talented.
