Boston Fans Show their True Bitter Colors... THEY BLAME GRADY LITTLE FOR LEAVING PEDRO IN THE GAME!!!

I think everyone feels badly for the Red Sox, we feel so badly for the Red Sox that when Red Sox fans state that "they can't believe Grady Little left Pedro Martinez in" to continue pitching late in the 7th game of the A.L. Championship Series against New York... we actually agree with them to help ease their pain.

Deep down, we know how silly that belief is, but we acknowledge their pain moreso and let them have their grief.

I just seem to recall several articles where the Red Sox, Martinez, Red Sox Fans, and Grady Little all were in agreement that keeping Martinez in longer might be the best way to insure a victory.

But hey, Pedro leading 5-2 in the 8th inning of the deciding game of the American League Championship against the Yankees is just not the right time to see if Pedro get through the 8th inning.

Grady Little was fired today, even though he was credited for bringing Manny Ramirez back in line in August and giving the Red Sox a sense of comraderie.

    Pedro goes 8 innings

Nobody disagreed with Grady Little when Pedro threw 128 pitches and won a complete game decision in August against the Angels.

"Pedro was at his best in the 8th and 9th inning"

Then more agreement with Little's handling of Pedro when they battled the Oakland A's in the playoffs...Grady makes the right move against the A's

I agree that it's total BS that the Sox fans are blaming Little for the loss to the Yankees. Pedro is the Sox's best pitcher and he wasn't the one that lost the game, it was their bullpen. Kudos to Little for pulling Pedro before he gave up the game and at least giving their bullpen a chance to win the game.

Everyone kept commenting on how "lights out" the Sox bullpen was in the post season. What about the regular season? The bullpen was rocky at best. How quickly people forget...

If Grady had pulled Pedro and the bullpen had then tanked, the universal criticism would have been that Little should have realized that what he had squeezed out of his bullpen in the playoffs prior to that game was a bonus and that he should have based his final decision of the series on what had happened during the regular season.

That in a nutshell meant that the only way Grady Little wins is if the Red Sox had won the game, period!

This was a team that throughout the season was always a lesser team than the Yankees, and them taking the Yankees to seven games was in itself an achievement.
