The Tribe is giving up on Phillips? Phillips certainly hasn't increased his chances of making the Tribe soon.

I don't think so. I think it means Phillips ends up back at short, and Peralta moves over to third.
Either way Abernathy is just roster fodder for Buffalo at this point.
