The rule is that we can only release people with 0 year contracts, the players currently on our teams, and draftees from the regular drafts as long as it's before games begin.
Suppose in this draft the guy I pick turns out to be BA and I want to try for a FA instead. Can I release him as long as it's before games begin?
I'd assume yes, but I want to make sure before hand.

I'd vote in favour of treating the initial draft like all subsequent drafts, and allowing releases before Day 1.
