hi big fan of altec have grown up with them as dad had altec and tannoys on fischer stuff,still have unused drivers at home
so over the last month i got the mags running again(i did buy these) where besides some vc rub and bad connectors and the usual not cared for altec stuff
it has the 803b and 902d , i did raise the box in front to get better interaction from bass horn about 3 inch in front and 2 at the back and angled the horn down about 8 degrees using a mitred peice of wood so i dont destroy the orig cabinet,i then put them on aes 811 amps with the 572 tubes and put a 15 year old cd player and let it warm up playing faintly ,
now the other side of the room i do have oris horns with 4 basshorns as well so i was exited about having 2 monster hi eff musical set up in one room
it was a great night i lay on the floor with a beanbag ,singlemalt,etc and played the altecs ,wow with triodes they move, i did add a monster sub,isobaric 15 ,f3@20,96db, as i lay on the floor wiggling like a innocent 15 year old ,smitten and i never felt so young
of course my oris combo is much better but these are still magnificent period
