1567A Line Transformer

I have an Altec 1567A mixer without a 15095 line transformer. Can I use a 15356 in its place? Are the pin outs different? Please advise.

They're not interchangeable. the 15356 is low impedance with a 1:1 ratio, meant only to provide isolation for the low imp. inputs of the SS amps they're used with. The 15095(A) has a low (150, 600 ohm) impedance input, and a high (15K ohm) imp. out, for matching line signal to the high imp. input of tube amps. It also has limited use in a few models in the line output (reversed). The only Altec (Peerless) alternative is the less common 4655, the 15095 predecessor, which offers a slightly better lf response. If you paid the big $ that 1567s are bringing nowdays, spend a little more for the right xfmr, around 25-40 for a 15095A, or 75-100 for a 4655. If any component in your system isn't flat down to 20 hz, (likely) theres no need for the higher priced 4655.
