The out frame of the grills are connected by a 45* miter and some staples tp join the corners. Looks like I will have to remove the staples and then coax the outer frame off. On second thought I am just gonna get these things up and running, my main reasons were to check out how these would sound anyway..... just gonna fix the hole/XO opening, fill the 3 sides with fill and pop the XO's and drivers in and go from there. Also might build some stands.

Hi, Chris, just noticed your post...the backs aren't removeable. I have a pair of 620B cabinets for my 604G's and everything on the inside gets done through the driver mouting hole. Cangratulations on finding the grills with the cabinets!
As for the veneer, I lightly sanded mine with very fine paper and used tung oil to bring out the grain, it looks nice, but the original patina was removed.
I strongly recommend building Jeff Markwarts Improved crossovers for them, I think you'll like the improvement, plus it's a lot of fun.
