Yes, a pair of 811s or 511s in black chrome would be very pretty!
This is a powder coat finish so can be applied to nearly all kinds of metal. Having said that, it's also possible to polish aluminum to a mirror finish. The picture attached shows a heatsink I polished for an amp project I'm working on.
Cutthroat, that gold is definitely nice, looks like a real quality job and fits your decor beautifully.

Be sure to let the shop know what a good job they did. It could not have been easy.
