I second that.I just threw these together over the holiday weekend for fun.I installed a pair of 416-8B's into 612C cabs.And mounted a pair of 288-8G's to a set of 1005A's tar filled and N501-8A XO's.It's been awhile since I had them hooked up and almost forgot how good they sound,but they need to be lifted atleast 2 feet of the ground.:) The 1005's need some paint though as they are still original paint.

Multi-Cells are Killer and you should have these painted professionally as I did. Not cheap, but well worth it!

Not to long ago I bought on eBay a pair 805B's with 288K's drivers. I replaced my 811B+806A and added BMS 4552-16 in small Mantaray horns as a super tweeters (crossed on 10KHz). Now I'm sure I have the best sound I can get for any money !!

Very nice Mike,I like that 416 -414 combo what do you cross everything at do you use the 416 just below 250 hz and use the 414 as your mids.I was considering that very set up but with dual 416's. :) What volume is your cabs ?

Are large format throat adapters interchangeable for 1.4 compression drivers? I have found various horns reasonably priced, but without throat adapters. I have a pair of GPA 399 compression drivers and would like to mate them with a pair of 805's or 1005's. I have heard the adapters MUST be for that particular horn. OR, is there a one size fits all? Thanks,

It appears there are not as many as I had been led to believe. The 30162 for the 803B and 805B and the 30170 for the 1005B and 1003B will pretty much get me covered. NOW all I need to do is find a pair. It would appear the throat adapters are more difficult to find than the horns. I wonder why no one is reproducing these adapters?
Anyway, thanks for the info. It's great to know we can count on you...

You need the 30210 Adapters for the 1005B horns. I know, as I have them.

And yes for some reason the adapters are much harder to find than the horns. You'd think it would be the other way around, since the adapters are almost indestructible.

The 30170 and 30172 are for dual drivers they are dual throat. 30162,30210,30166 are the single throats for 805-1005-1505 respectively. :)
