Looks like plywood to me. Look at the upper right. They're thick plys, but still plys.

Yup. I was looking at the backboard cleat. You can see the plys across the top too.

Anyway, some specie of 414 woofers eh?

I have a pr of these cabs with 605As, cira 1963. I had them refinished and replaced the grile cloth. The cloth is wrapped around the baffel board and is not sealed. Since I ported my cabs ; i caulked the baffel inplace .

They are 414Z I'm pretty sure, most gold color ones of the 414 were the Z model 16 ohm's
