if these had 6 welds on the return pot(indicating WE manufacture) and the dustcaps were perfect, and the gaskets in their original unstained blond color with date and QC stamps clearly visible, i think the price might have shocked you as they'd likely have brought twice that.

I just did a "completed listing" search and sho 'nuff, they go for silly money. Who knew? You'd think if there was that kind of market that someone would try making them again. Is it the sound, or the vintage aspect that drives the price? I suppose a combination.

A very nic score to find- altec made a coulumn that had half a dozen 755's in it. Most are later, but old ones do have A;s. A dozen A's would be nice.
I had a bunch (755a) pulled from an old hotel here back in the 80's...still shed a tear when I think what I sold them for.
