    You're welcome!

No, it won't change its classification: Evacuated Envelopes

Unless stated otherwise, it's assumed to be Class AB and with 'Resonance'/'Presence' controls you'll probably have no problem dialing the speakers in to get the flattest practical in-room response.

Re: That old saw: A7 port size

    Thanks again GM.

I tried the Peavey 50/50 as it was, and of course it was way too much power. I will attempt it as a lower power setup when I find the doc.

What might be of usefull interest to someone:
The setup (N-1285-B xover) measures 8ohm @ 1k (using tenma audio impedance tester), but using the 8ohm settings for the peavey's OTs, the resonance control was not particularly responsive.
Switching to 4ohm on the amp, they did become more responsive.

Re: That old saw: A7 port size

Hi, this is my first post so I felt I needed to say hello. I have a nice pair of 846B Valencias I bought new in 1975. I have always thought they produced the most accurate sound I have heard. I am thinking of building a pair of A7's. I have read the comments here and I would like your opinion on room size. I understand adjusting the port will effect bass response. I did not want to change the original design. So, what in your opinion is the smallest room size for the original designed A7? The room I want to install them in is 18'10" X 22'3". Also the amount of volume is a concern as well. A realistic sound is my goal.
    Thanks,
    MM
