Nope- just another example of ignorance running rampant.

But that ignorance just cost someone $700. They are worth $400 to 450 maybe and sold for $1150.

Actually, that's about right. 288-g's bring a premium.
In the DIY boards they are known as the "poor man's TAD". I've seen them go for $1300 on Fleabay.
I've paid 600-800 when I need them. I wouldn't pay 1300.

Makes it rather sad that one of you guys didn't get this deal, and makes me sorry i didn't post it here while it was still active.

I like that correction to my question of the 16G price range. It makes the Stanley Screamers that much more of a find. You have to get lucky sometime.

Actually the deal Bowtie posted has 16-k's. those are ferrite. 16-g's are alnico.
That still was a good deal. The multicells were worth the selling price.

While the TAD does measure very smoothly, I was never impressed with the musicality of them. They seemed to lack the naturalness that the Altec drivers have...
Just my opinion.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I OWN 6 TAD 4002,s and I have to second this statement. They do go up high, but, I dunno, I dont like them very much as far as their sound is concerned.
Personally, I think Beryllium is over rated! But, thats just me.
