    Question

I am looking for an inexpensive software that would allow me as an electrician to create single line diagrams showing the breakdown of power in my buildings from the service entrance to main distribution as well as lighting and power panels so that this info can be recorded on buiding hard drives and pulled up to view as needed. It would also need to give me the capacity to draw up control schematics to catalogue them as well. if anyone in the maintenance electrical field is familiar with such software please let me know. thanks

I've used AutoSketch, which is a "low-bucks" version of AutoCad, sold by AutoDesk.

    AutoDesk web page

It has librarys of symbols, can do layered drawings, etc.

Turbo Cad is another inexpensive program that includes symbols and layering. It also opens AutoCad drawings.
