    In doing a renovation the client asked that we make a place with a 12/2 to the panelboard for a future baseboard heater. My question is if an electric baseboard heater is allowed in a cloths closet? Maybe a flush mount unit with sufficient clearances? I don't know.
    Let me know your thoughts.

    Ellement: If you read 62-110(1)(a)&(b), it says adjacent combustible material shall not be subjected to excess temperature. This could be a very difficult rule to comply with in a clothes closet. The heater would have to be installed so that nothing would end up being stored directly in front of it.

    hello there;

    one thing about the clothes closet area the NEC will not allow it for safety reason too. there are too many items it can get burn if too close to the electric heating devices.

    P.S what your CEC say about the open lumaires ( open light bulbs) in the cloth closet??? i want to see if it is simuar to NEC codes or not. majorty of it will not allow open lumaires it have to be enclosed.

    merci, marc
