    O.k. this may be a dumb question but I am stuck on this question and just don't understand.....

    The living area for a single living dwelling has been determined and it requires a basic load of 6kW.
    The house has the following loads....
    Dryer of 3.5kW
    Electric space heating of 3.5kW
    Air cond. of 1.5kW
    hot tub heater of 3kW
    Kiln of 3.5kW

    Am I wrong to add all the loads at 100%?
    My answer is 21 but the real answer is 20.250....... what am I doing wrong?

    See rule 8-200(1)(a)(vi)
    Basic load=6000w
    AC=1500w
    Tub heater=3000w
    ESH=3500w
    Dryer and kiln together=6000w+(1000*.25)=6250w
    6000+1500+3000+3500+6250=20250W

    You would add the dryer and kiln together, if they are over 1500w up to 6000w the demand is at 100%, anything over that would be at a demand of 25%, so 6000+250=6250w
