Hello I will be using BX drops through a plaster ceiling to feed theatrical lights in our church. Normally with BX a handy box with a duplex or single receptacle would do but is it acceptacle to use a female cord end attached to the BX. I simply want something not as bulky as a handy box. I realize that cabtire with a cord end is okay but not to pass through the plaster ceiling.
    Thanks Tom

    Hello,
    Rule 30-406(1) states:
    Conductors on Movable Parts:
(1)Stranded conductors shall be used on chain type luminaires and other movable parts of lighting equipment.

I would think that this rule would exclude you from attaching the female cord end to the Bx.
I believe the the concern would be that the solid
conductors in the Bx could "break" with movement.
