make me nervous
make me sad
make me uncomfy
make me wonder what to wear
make me think about death
make me ponder my own death
make me realize each day is one less...

A close friends four year old daughter died just before Xmas. A little girl that I watched grow to her four years. She caught bacterial Menegitis somewhere. We all had to be treated because of the contact.
We as a group of friends were devestated. Their only child.
The hardest thing I have gone thru so far in my life. To see a child in a casket was brutal. To see one that I held days before, undescribable.
Tuesday night she was here with the flu, Wensday she was gone. It happened that fast.
The donated the organs and because of her death four children lived.
Small comfort.
Keep in mind how life can change on a dime. That reminded me.

Chloe I just realized I told you this. At the other place.
I havent talked about it much since then. This thread sorta reminded me.
I personally hate funerals and wouldnt of gone to that one only she's a close friend and needed the support.
odd though, she ended up supporting all of us instead.
If I can get out of them, I dont go.

Losing a child is such a horrid thing to go thru. Any death is hard but for some reason children touch me the most.
I also dont go to funerals unless I have no choice.
Chloe I'm sorry about your uncle.

it never matters how much or little you know a person... a funeral's never an easy thing to do..
i've been to too many for the few years i've been around, and i remember each and every one
i had to go to the funeral of a 3 month old child a couple of summers ago... and i tell you... i can still hear the way her mother cried when i close my eyes... primal....
this isn't the original, but a rendition of the poem, The Dash
The Dash Between The Dates
Grave side services were over now.
Everyone had left and I was alone.
I began to read the names and dates
Chiseled here and there on every stone.
The name showed whether it was Mom or Dad,
Or daughter or baby son.
The dates were different, the amount the same,
There were two dates on every one.
It was then that I noticed something
Just a simple line.
It was the dash between the dates,
And placed there, it stood for time.
All at once it dawned on me,
How important that little line!
The dates placed there belong to God,
But the line in yours and mine.
It's God who gives this precious life,
And it's He who takes away;
But the line between He gives to us
To do with what we may.
We know He's written the first date down
Of each and every one;
And we're sure the hands will write again,
For the last date has to come.
The hands will write the last date down
Quite soon, perhaps, for some;
But upon the line between my dates and yours,
I trust He'd write, "Well done, well done!"

*sends you bunches of extra hugggggggggggggs*...
i hate them too, chloe... i know they're necessary... i guess. But still yet. I hardly ever go to funerals unless they are people REALLY close to me... But i always feel uncomfortable and can't wait to get it over with. I have never been able to cry at the funeral of the people closest to me...my grandfather...grandmother...cousins...boyfriend..n othing. maybe it's paranoia, but i feel like people are looking at me and thinking, omg, don't you even CARE? ugh.
