STOMP!

i know this might be a longshot, but i was just moved to add this.......if anyone plans to come to Manhattan and wants to go to a really good performance-art show.....go to the Orpheum Theater in Greenwich Village and see "STOMP!"

right now i'm watching, yet again, the HBO film they made.....it's all rhythm.....they bang on anything they can get their hands on *G........they make "music" with ordinary items, such as pushbrooms, matchboxes, newspapers, metal items such as pails, sinks and pipes........they swing from scaffolding and use their entire bodies to go back and forth between mesmerizing and motivating you to move your body to the rhythm.....

i saw it last year and i had the privilege of conversing with one of them on the sidewalk outside the theater afterwards and it was the end of a very good evening......first dinner at a great Italian restaurant called "John's", also in the Village, and "STOMP!"......if anyone happens to go, let me know how you liked it *G

i saw "Mumenschanz" on Broadway when i was little and i've always wished they'd reprise it....

according to what i remember the program saying, they have a road company, so they most likely have come to the LA area......i know the concept was born in London and that they've toured over there, as evidenced by the fact that Rant saw them in Northern England.......if you happen to know ahead of time that they'll be in your area, i'd definitely recommend you go! i looked around at the rest of the audience when i went, and it seemed as if everyone was enjoying it *G

BLANCA! *LOL* yeah, they are talented........and the captain of the troupe told us that they get quite a workout doing that, plus they do other forms of exercise as well.......talk about bodies........*fans self*........hehehe......
