Thursday night John calls me on his way home from HELL and tells me that he has tomorrow off and Saturday and Sunday etc.... Yup you guessed it...he got fired...they told him it was because of his absenses and that he didn't show them his VA paper work on his knees early enough for them to help him keep his job...get this fuckin' shit...THEY fired him AFTER he had worked his complete 8 hours...WTF?? oh well its all good cuz he should be gettin hired at Spirit very soon...he's spoke with one of the head honchos there and was basically told as soon as he gets his online app in...he's hired...he did that up early...so cross your fingers...is a big pay raise with excellent benefits

Tell fucking Wal-Mart to have his check within 48 hours or they get to pay him for every single day he doesn't get it. Daniel got it straightened out...he took a stack of paperwork from the Bureau of Labor in on the breaks and shit and handed it to them and said they need to cover it AT the meeting. If I am not mistaken with the VA paperwork...I don't think they can use that "you didn't show me the paperwork soon enough" line. *mutters* I guess this is how corporate America is working anymore. Oh yeah and if they fired John for absences then why in the fucking HELL do they continue to allow this one chick that works with Daniel to only show up about a quarter of the time. And her reason for not coming to work..."I don't have a ride from Willamina and my boyfriend won't bring me in." Willamina is about 15 miles away. Oh but she still works there and from what I understand is still on her 90 day probation as well. [img]graemlins/grrr.gif[/img]

*nodding*... you're right... they pull that shit, and you wouldn't believe the number of people that don't fight it... they just say oh well and let them get away with it... but as you can see, when you bring in documentation or act like you've done your homework, they go OH FUCK!!! oooops, that's not what we meant at all!! lol...
i'm thinkin VA stuff is kinda like worker's comp stuff... or any sort of disability, etc... i don't really think they CAN fire you over something like that... i know your husband is probably getting another, better job... but it would be funny to stick it to those bastards just because. they get away with fuckin murder...

You almost have to stick it to them anymore. If you don't you walk away with less than nothing. No way to file for unemployment...and they will fight that. As for the VA...that is considered discrimination.

When I was looking for a job, everyone kept telling
me to go to Walmart....they are wonderful...they
have excellent pay....yadda yadda yadda...
But me being a devote Walmart shopper...at the
time we were at Walmart 4-5 times a week! *L*...
I got to know some of the people who worked there...
and the grievances they had with Walmart...how
they were treated pretty much like slaves....
expected to work on holidays...not being allowed
their time off they had earned....running from
their work spot to the back to get their full
break or lunch....how they are expected to help
customers but getting bitched at if they didnt
answer a page while helping that customer...the
employee "discount" that they could make out
better using coupons at the grocery store...never
getting any praise for a good day...but getting
yelled at because they could have done better!
No way in hell did I want a job at Walmart!
Dont let them get away with shit...fight them...
our walmart employees did a few years ago...they
said things are a little better now...but not much....
As long as walmart knows they can fill in for the
ones they fire and dont fight...they will keep
doing what they do best...taking advantage of the
employees!

Yeah we know we're goin to talk to a lawyer and find out whats up...i think its complete bullshit...in fact it wasn't his dept assistant manager that fired him it was the store manager that told the assistant managers to fire him...see he showed the paper work to his Assistant manager and apaprently he was tryin to cover up the absences cuz john's a good worker...*shruggs* we'll prolly end up suing em and gettin dinero*W*
