The pastry was Linzertorte. I only chose it because I'd just finished drooling over pictures of one my boyfriend's brother made.

I should probably have learned how to make that before I left a description. Almost every recipe I can find says it's traditionally made with almonds, not hazelnuts. But both sound yummy. I made a cake loosely based on it for my brother's birthday yesterday, and it actually turned out. Hurrah!
