I spent about 30 minutes with a new P&C agent this morning. When all is said and done, between the vehicles and the house we're realizing a savings of $1200 a year.
If anybody is interested in getting a quote from the guy, let me know.

What is the claims paying reputation of the new insurance company? Check the Ohio Department of Insurance site for complaint rates amongst insurers.
Cheaper is not always better.
When I have time, I'll rant about the THIRD not-my-fault accident in 3.5 years. If the trend continues - and it appears it will - I will be left holding the bag on damage that is not my fault for the third time in a row.
Back to gae's post...I should also point out that the combined ratios of insurance companies have been going down and the trend is toward stable and lower prices. It might not just be gae's particular agent, but the market in general. The market has improved for the consumer over the last year.
May I suggest an independent agent? They aren't necessarily beholden to any particular insurance company (but many of them certainly play favorites).
