Ramblin'

So, it's my birthday, and I'm stuck at work. Ah, well, there's worse things, right? Like, I could not have a job. Hmm. Well, if we stipulate that having a job means having money, then having a job is definately a good thing. Even if I have to work on my birthday.

So, I'm kinda inspired by the bird's thread, so bear with me. If I miss anybody, you can assume I hate you. Or you can just say, hey, eris, what about me? and I'm pretty sure there'll be something nice to say about you.

Bran... it's all your fault. Totally.

Asis... I know we don't talk enough, but when we do, it's kinda like coming home, and knowing you're home.

GeekGirl... Are you sure you're not an alt? Cause you're just too cool to not be one of my alternate personalities.

Jely... cause you cheer me up by being bitchy even when I don't want to cheer up.

Derico... cause you force me to keep in touch. I know yer not on the board anymore, and you might not see this, but hey, it's just a silly list, right?

5cats... yer weird, but you're a good guy. And I'll never forget that you were one of the first ones to make me feel at home here.

Crazya... I know, you're just too cool to be on a list of people I appreciate, but you're here. I honestly like you, and respect you, and I love it when you share your stories. So, thank you.

RichC... You're not the last romantic on earth. Really, truly.

JaceSan... Mr. Random. You don't say much, but when you do, it usually cracks me up.

Jaxom... It's been a good partnership. And really, one of us should maybe try to figure out how to trim the board without killing everything on it. Of course, if you want me to do it I will. Just remember the chaos field...

See, the problem now is that there's so many of us gone. I know Jax says we all come back, and I certainly hope it's true. 9/11 rocked us in a fundamental way. We bickered, we argued, we said regrettable things. And then, when it looked like we might recover from it, Hostboard itself started dying on us... and restarting, and dying... until we finally lost our sister board, and the source of our newbies that kept us from getting bored with each other.

So, the board's changed a lot. Some good, some bad. There's a lot of people I miss. And I'm a different person than I was 3 years ago. I don't know if I'm better or worse or just different. Deep down, I kinda want to see the board become the magical place it used to be... but that would mean I'd have to go back to being the person I was three years ago. Of course, with some notable exceptions, it might almost be worth it.

But, it's my birthday, and I'm at work, and I'm rambling. We are the shit, you know. Other people can look at us and not realize it, but we truly are. And hey, what more can you ask from a cheesy message board?

*walks in, looking cool, cooler than the Icee polar bear, kisses Eris's cheek, getting a slight shock from her chaos field*

I hear what you're saying...and you know something...I still think we all come home again eventually...maybe I'll even get my real name back sometime...

And I'll look into the trimming the board thing too, but no promises...I still think I'm a better PR man than a nuts and bolts type of guy...

All, kidding aside, I love this board and the people on it. That's why I keep coming back. For some of you, this is the only way I get to keep in touch, sorta. God, I really need to learn grammar... at least some things about me never change.

Very glad you came over and jumped right in. I know I'm not on the board so much and that I'm pretty much impossible to locate on IM (I miss those late night/early morning rambles with everyone), but I know I can always come here and see some of my fave people, even if it's not as often as I'l like.
