How do you justify showing up for a 1:00 pm appointment at 11:30 am? I swear that 90% of the general population is just plum stupid and believes whole heartedly that the world revolves around them. And everyone of them show up and say the same dam thing, I just thought I would come on down and see..... might as well say I just thought you were joking about giving me a time to get my truck worked on, you mean I'm not your only customer?

After 10 years of putting up with it you would think I would be used to it. Just had to vent a little, feel better now.

Get that too, or the ones that don't show at all and show up 2 days later "Can you do it now?" with 4 others settin there to be worked on that kept their appointment or brought them and left to get when I can.

I think most people have in their mind that "if I go earlier they may get to me sooner". I know I do .....lol

I hate the ones that called last week, and show up mid next week.
I can't stand the ones who know their order will NOT be in until 1:30, and show up at 11:00.. and think they are going to sit there and talk to us..

I cannot stand the ones who show up and want you to drop everything to work on a piece of [censored]...

I hate when we work all week long.. and my dad works usually 7:30-6 every single day.. and 8-1 on Saturday.. and on Thursday evening our big companies call and have work for Friday evening.. or they wait til Friday evening and call and want it back Saturday.. sometimes.. I want to scream, slam a few phones, hit something, and shoot something haha

I also hate the [censored] who want [censored] done on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, or any other holiday.. like we don't have a [censored] life.. God.. I hate some [censored] bastards

I always hated the people who would come to the movies on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve/Day, Easter, etc. and be like it's a shame you all have to work today and I was always thinking well if people didn't come to the movies we probably wouldn't have to work.

I remember those days. Thanksgiving is one of the biggest movie nights ever.

Had a guy tell me once he wanted 96, 16 ft long 2x6s and 15 sheets of 1/2" cxd plywood. I asked how many trips he wanted to make- he said one..and I'm gonna stand in the door on the 4th of July , eat an ice cream and watch you load it. It was 3 days before he came back to get the last 7 sheets of plywood, seems a 1/2 ton pick-up won't haul that much, something about broken springs. I love good customers. Coal companies can be the worst... they always want something done while the mine is idle, weekends , holidays or vacation.

Spuds nailed it on the head.. Coal Mines want EVERYTHING done when the mine is idle.. or the bosses are the only ones allowed to take vacations, all other vendors and such don't do this.. gah.. haha.. it's all good business though.. and my dad loves it.. but i'm 23 and young.. it kills me

I know all about how those Coal Mines are. I get to come up to the Warehouse every Saturday and Sunday bc they are ALWAYS needing something. Who in the hell needs a scoop motor at 2am on a Saturday night????

The guy that is trying to change the head on the miner...who got a bad oil sample from Carter. Got to fix the scoop to have something to handle the miner head with. 1st year I worked at Arch I got 5 Sats off- Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanks Giving and Christmas weekends. We get 1 or 2 a month now. Used to save all my vacation days when the kid was playing football and I worked midnights, took them on Friday nights in the fall.

Well do me a favor and talk to the fella in charge of getting parts from Sandvik and ask him if he needs parts on the weekends, to do it a lil bit earlier lol ..nah Im just joking, I actually dont mind getting paged at all on the weekends, I get 4 hours of OT pay for about 45 mins of my time so I cant really complain.

To tell the truth we get chewed out over the "hotshot" runs. We are supposed to limit them as much as possible. I'm in Pardee, by the way. The problem is the Ky group running the Blueridge Whse. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img]

These are my absolute favorites. Or the ones that comes barging into the shop "you workin on one" or feel like they should jump right in and grab whatever and "help". I want to tell them to get out, I don't need any help or somebody to inspect my work, I have been doing this for 15 years and there is noone better.

I agree with you... gah.. oh what gets me too.. we are a RADIATOR shop.. just because my dad knows how to solder things, doesnt mean we can solder EVERYTHING in the world.. or if something breaks, it doesn't mean solder will hold it together..

can you please stop working on that D-11 Dozer Radiator and solder this water faucet back together.. good freakin lord..

Our whse techs at WCCO used to have to go thru a ton of paper to put something back....back when I worked for them, a section would call, saying I'm down and need one of 4 ,possible electrical parts. So I got pretty good at bringing back what I didn't use so we could shelf them without the paper trail. Made much less work, but it was a big risk for the guys , some of the parts were thousands. Yeah, I've seen tractor parts, any number of exhaust parts, plumbing .... seemed like people thought Westmoreland was able to make/fix anything. And the ones with BERs are some of the best, just can't understand somethings are beyond fixing.

I actually do tell these morons that I can't fix it over the phone they will have to vring it by the store. Or the ones that do come by the store but don't drive the truck with the problem they bring the car "that gets better mileage", well they get told to go back and bring the truck in.

you know, people still try to plug up their dvd players using the composit cables then try to watch it on Ch 3 or 4. when you try to tell them how to find the video channel you would have thought you told them to work the formula on how to get a man on Mars or something

Up here, it's a couple of the 02 patients that we have that are driving me insane. We have one that we constantly tell we don't get our truck in till Tuesday, yet without fail, calls in every midday Monday, saying she needs tanks that evening because she's going places the next day. Last Friday she sent her daughter down there after I told her plainly on the phone that we were low on the size of the tanks she usually gets. I told her dead over the phone we could give her plenty of the next size down. Well, her daughter pitched a fit in the office because we didn't have the size she always gets. I just flat out told her that she was welcome to have all the lower size tanks she needs, but would have to wait till Tuesday for the regular ones. She copped an attitude when I gave her the receipt. It's people like her that make me want to smack her upside the head with a quad cane!

Here at Berea, we have student labor as a requirement. Freshman year and last year I worked at the little Cafe above the campus post office.

You wouldn't believe how many people would say "what's good?" And I'm thinking in my head "do I look like I know what you like to eat?"

Sunday through Thursday it closed at midnight. Friday and Saturday at 1AM. On the school nights the customers (which 90% of them are Berea students) would all try to file in line at 11:50, ten minutes before close. And they would throw fits when we had to close down. You don't go into a restaurant or cafe 10 minutes before close and expect five star service. A lot of people didn't respect the fact that we were students too and we had homework to get to and papers to write and exams to study for.

Thank god I am a TA instead of there where I actually get the proper experience.

Nothing drove me crazier than customers who showed no respect.
