Woo Hoo!
Glad to see Hostboard is finally back up! I haven't been able to get in here since before finals and vacation, and here I am, 1/4 of the way through the current semester.
The trip to I-Con and the visit with Polly was wonderful. My son was properly impressed with the convention and even bought his first sword. Polly was the gracious hostess, as always, and even loaned her Jeremiah tape to me.
I managed to survive finals and even posted another 4.0 semester. Hope I can do as well this semester. The network courses are harder and I'm taking them at night with a different group of people. On the plus side, these people like to party; on the negative side, the instructors teach to the people that they had last semester and I have to try to learn the off-topic things that they covered which my instructors did not. I'll survive, but I am going to have to work harder than the rest of them.
Over the past month, my webmaster, treebeard, moved the treebeard.net site to a new web host. We had a couple of busy weeks verifying that everything was working properly. Little problem with an ftp client that was NOT case sensitive--it clobbered some of our directories, causing overwrites of all our redirect files. All is working now and we are enjoying the expanded features available with the new host: many more pop accounts, an SMTP server for outgoing mail, web access for mail accounts, and the option of using server side includes for the pages. Best of all, the cost is less than half what treebeard had been paying. So, now, in addition to studying for classes, studying for Microsoft and CompTIA certifications, and trying to organize this year's Gem and Mineral Show for the local rock and mineral club, I'm trying to learn to be an assistant webmaster (webmistress?). Maybe I should add a "Shelob" account at the site to use. <g>
Time to sign off for now. I've had a long day.
Bee

Wow, Bee. First congratulations on the 4.0.
2nd, congratulations on still being alive enough to post, sounds like you've got a million things going.
Hope they all balance well for you and it doesn't become too much of a strain.

Bee - I really don't think Treebeard and Shelob would get on well. Good and evil kinda thing ya know?
