Vicki Blue says she was in the group longer than Cherie.
Cherie was there from, say December 1975 to August/September 1977. Say, twentyone months.
If we generously allow Vicki from July 1977, to equal that she would need to be still a member as of March 1979.

Hadn't Laurie McAllister replaced her by the New Year's Eve (and last) gig in 1978?

The point is, this is a person supposedly making a documentary (underlined) on the Runaways.
And they can't even get things like that right.

I'm sorry Cherie I mean no disrespect but I've got to say this...
What is it with the Vicki bashing? I don't understand it! Vicki is a filmmaker and has been doing it for sometime now. I don't think she has ever claimed to be musician. In reading this interview I didn't feel that Vicki was bitter at all more like frustrated. Why would Vicki say the things she did in this interview if they were not true? Why risk being sued? Do some digging. Get in touch with Peer music and find out for yourselves.
Joan has seen the movie and was upset because she was not featured enough. Well Joan did not contribute to the film. You can only do so much. Every member of the Runaways participated in this documentary except for Joan. I to wonder why Joan is so against this movie. Is she really that controlling? What is she so concerned about? What gives her and her "people" the right to crush someone's creativity? Whatever is in the film came from the Runaway's themselves. I don't believe Vicki sat behind the camera and forced the girls to say things they did not want to say. Think about it. The words came from the girls themselves.
I'm a huge fan and have been for 20 years. Joan was and still is a great inspiration to me. I wish she and her organization would stop trying to control everything and concentrate on getting new music out for all to enjoy.

You know, none of us really know what really happened 27 years ago or through the years since, we just read or hear things second or third (or even fourth or fifth, etc.) hand. We will probably never hear the complete truth from any of The Runaways band members, regardless of their length of time in the band or who they happen to be at this time in their lives. After all this time, it's simply their perception of that time in their lives that they'll remember, or be able to recollect... I must admit, I have sensed animosity in what I've read and heard, but I have no clue as to why that animosity is there... Who am I to judge?
As a long time Runaways fan, as well as a fan of most of their solo careers, I can't wait to see Edg*pl*y, if the darn thing ever gets released!! I'll make the decision of what I believe, if anything, after I see it

Dear Denise
I don't understand how you can say you have no clue as to why the animosity is there.
I don't wish to rake over unhappy old ground as this is an upbeat messageboard usually -but anyone who knows the history of the group ,and of Cherie's problems with her book (first issue)
and a certain member, with her revised book (and another member), the problem's with the reunion and most recently with the Hall of Fame, would have a clue.
I just wonder (and I'm not sniping) if the selling price of the DVD is merely going to cover costs -as everyone gave their contribution gratis.
And if vicki is a filmmaker -how many films of hers besides the one about the Runaways are you all going to buy?

PS Folks!
What people should be asking themselves is why other band members have withdrawn support after greeting the project with initial enthusiasm.
What happened to make them change their position?
(Rumour has it that now Lita is cooling her support too. I expect we can look forward to her being 'bad-mouthed' also.)
It would also be naive to think that representation of the others will tackle Vicki on every issue even if they know how the truth is being abused. Let her go down with her rapidly sinking ship ...
Its a shame; but then the Runaways has always attracted exploitation -even from one of their own.(Albeit a secondstringer.)

Dear Friends,
I just can't understand what compelled Vicki to answer the questions the way she did. She started out by saying she didn't know what happened at blackheart regarding the film but "here is what happened on our end" and yet the reader is likely to come away feeling as though Joan was totally at fault.
It sort of sounded to me like, for whatever reason, Joan was turned off to the idea and Vickie just kept pushing her. I don't know much about Joan but I'll bet she doesn't like being pushed. Whose to blame in that scenerio?
Who knows, maybe it was Kim Fowley's involvement that changed some peoples minds about being involved themselves. Certainly understandable if so!
Maybe Vicki should have waited, to do interviews about the film, until after it's release. I wonder why she didn't? I think it would have been better.
It's her unfriendly commentary on Cherie that really got MY goat though.
Totally uncalled for in my opinion!
Let's not let this thing divide us here on Cherie's board folks!
I respect everyone's opinion on this thread.
Thanks for posting the link JetRnk. It IS a major moment in Runaways history and you were right to share it with us.
Have a nice day folks!
Gus
