I do not agree with what you have said. First of all the Pitcher that Gate City has is a good little pitcher. She is just a freshman I think and throws pretty hard. The Odle girls are good and all, but they are not the reason that Gate City is winning. The catcher is one of the best athletes that I have ever seen, catching wise and hitting. They are pretty solid at every position. So for you to say that the Odle girls are the reason that Gate City is winning is not fair to the rest of the team.

I didn't say it was the ONLY reason, but just that they are a big part of the reason they are so good. I mean the Odle's hit good, one of them pitches and the other catches.. that is a big part of their assets. Yes they have many more good players, but the Odles bring a huge amount of talent to that team. . . it will hurt when they are gone. I didn't mean to take anything away from the rest of the players, sorry if I hurt someones feelings.

This is hilarious, from what the folks at the city are say, the Burke girl and the 2nd baseman, by far have the hhighest batting averages on the team. The Burke girl is the fastest baserunner they have had in years, and is actually better behind the plate, she's just lacking in arm strength and shes not a senior. Then you have the 2 pitchers, the freshman Grills girl, has more strikeouts and has pitched against the better teams. Folks at the City say, its all about seniority, and this is the main reason, shes sharing the mound and Burkes not catching.So its fair to say, not just, Coeburn is upset by the Odles move,looks like its affected people at the City too. But G.C. will definately be just fine next year, young but with alot of experience, due to the traveling the majority have done. However look for G.C. , Powell Vally, and Virginia High to have some great showdowns in softball in the next few years, because all seem to be loaded with talent. Powell valley and G.c. will have some super pitching with the sophomores next year.

I would have to agree that the BURKE GIRL... THE catcher is one of the best athletes on the team by far.. and her base running is really good.

Vikings actually did a great job...Hitting about the best I have seen them hit, (He. Odle in my opinion only)is not that great on the mound and PV showed them that they can play and win.. Good job Vikings. I actually thought it was going to go a lot higher in runs though the way they were hitting that ball and with the errors on Gate Citys side.

PV JV team played everyone in the district except Clintwood. They did not lose to a district team.They beat every team in the district, so they are the champs.

That is not true. They are important also. Some JV teams could beat Varsity teams.
