Re: Redion D championship at UVa-Wise?

It comes down to 1 simple thing:

MONEY - Region D has made more money off the regional championship games since they have been played at UVa-Wise then it ever has before.

Which begs the question that if it's so great playing the games at the higher seed why did the region not make as much money from the D1 and D2 championships combined as it does now when they're played at UVa-Wise?

The last vote by the Region D principals to hold the D1 and D2 regional championships at UVa-Wise was 22-1 in favor.

Just because GC is too good to drive to Wise is no reason to switch.
the games at UVAW bring in so much money, theyd be fools to switch it.

    The GC folk should either:
A; shut up and quit whining and deal with it.
B; demand that basketball be changed as well.
C; lose on purpose, you wont have to complain about it if you dont make the playoffs.

It takes much longer to get from GCHS to Hunter Wright than it does to get from PVHS to the Park, GC just wants everything their way, for them to be as comfortable as possible at the behest of other teams.
where else would GC play besides hunter wright?? they don't have a decent feild.

and whats so diff about the water in gc?? lol people that say oh gc think they **** dont stink cracks me up, from one **** whole to the next they aint much difference hahaha

Doesn't the VHSL get all the gate money? Concessions split between the 4 schools.... thats a wash. What doesn't get mentioned is the higher seed's community misses out on local dollars, gas stations, restaurants, etc. These local communities support their local school with ads in programs and individual dollars, for all that support they get to waste their gas so Counts can watch a double header???
Top seed should not have the right to host stripped from them. UVA-Wise should be an option for top seeds, not mandatory. D1 should have 1pm option, D2 should have 4pm option. If they decide to not play at wise then they should have the option to play fri. night or sat. so Counts can go to both games.

The majority of people that have gone to PV since 1979 have been in HS for at least 1...most 2 or more...and yeah, if GC is in the finals and wants to play at home, they should be able to. Football wasn't intended to be played on plastic.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....

come on seats, fields, money...do any of those factors make a team better or worse...in 94 i played in about 6 inches of mud at middlesex and it made no difference...72-7...IMO it comes down to heart, who wants it more, that is what most high school games i have watched lack. if you want it bad enough you will play in the parking lot...
