In the time I watched Tom coach, there was very few I plays, most of them in the last year or two. I really don't see what the gripe is, when Appy had the kids to run it, Tom ran a spread or shotgun several times a game. The trick is , most people don't see enough of practice to have an idea of what can be run. The last state game, I heard people talking about what they would have done to stop that offense, Tom was possibly the best coach around and if Appy had the kids to run the 3-4 and the dime and the 10 other schemes named, he would have gone to it.The T gets you to the line quicker and you don't have to hold a block as long, it's balanced -you don't have a weak and strong side. Going away from getting across the LOS and hitting someone is what has disappointed me the most in PV and Appy the last couple of years.

Was that there "Dog Bone" Look I was thinking that was more a wishbone look with one of the half backs really being a extra lineman right behind the guard.

EXCATLY! it wasnt that jumbo set T formation. They rran wishbone with the Myers Twins and some Power I with them and a young Travis Clark.

94 Appy was without the full services of the starting fullback from middle of the season till the last half of the PV game. Hyper extended knee slowed him down.

Your talkin about an Appy fullback how much slower could he get???

I dont believe Travis saw much playing time as a freshman. I am thinking that backfield contained Larry Huff instead as Turner took over as QB his freshman year with Huff moving to HB his SR year from QB. They also had Sam Sellars I think at time.

He got a lot of playing time but he wasn't the first guy.

If I'm not mistaken, Huff was a FB his Senior year..and I think Sellers was a WR.

sup-rbeast you are correct. Sellars played wide out and Huff ran fullback in front of the Myers boys and Dub Varner even got in from time to time if im not mistaken. I do remember seeing Travis clark against a tenn school i think getting some good reps and he also played a down or two against PV (only two games of appy i got to see that season).
