Speaking the truth, listen to this man.
Their Laws do not call for the celebration of execution.
That part is going to get the Americans in more trouble there. Let's watch the casualty count rise now.
Across the US families will be notified of the deaths of loved ones, picked off by enraged Iraqis.
Saddam didn't have respect for human life. We as Americans should show that respect for human life is possible. We can't be hypocrites.
I guarantee you that the Iraqi people wouldn't have sentenced Saddam to death prior to the invasion and overthrow. Let's not kid ourselves. This occupation is the Americanization of Iraq.

Also - I agree with 82abn.
you were not there in Nazi Germany either, I understand you served or know people who have served ut its unfair to say "unless you were there" I have a very good friends who was there, matter of fact he was the first into Afghanistan and Iraq. His first hand account made me understand the life that people had to lead there, or the lack there of. I am a major supporter of the death penalty, thas why I was sayin to elpn, we disagree on that maybe, but the fact remains, people are loyal to something there, be it Saddam or the fear of him, maybe knowing he is dead, will relinquish (sp) some of that ferver, maybe it will just make things worse, I do not know. I dont think the debate over if Saddam was good or bad, the conditions he made the people survive in (that was no way of life, mere survival) The question is, will it ignite more violence or maybe begin to slow it down.
An example of their odd loyalty:
[ QUOTE ]
In an exclusive interview with CNN correspondent Jane Arraf on August 1, Rana Hussein, 33, said her father was very tender with the family. Neither of the daughters would discuss Saddam's role in the death of their husbands in 1996.

Daddy killed their hubands, yet they speak fondly of him.
How many more have this same loyalty? Will these loyalists fire back with executions of their own?
The doggie that caught him should have popped him in his hole. It might have made things more simple. Saddam killed many, but if he would have been put to death would have been entirely up to the jury selection . The guys (our guys) caught in the civil war won't be helped by this .
I often wonder why that did not happen, a single shot from a soldier inside that hole. But who knows.
Dear Born, Michigan?
Looks like many Iraqi-Americans live there.
Iraq is out of hand big time. All this will do is help fuel more anit-American crap.
I agree he needed to be gone. But at this juncture. This will just create more tension.
In a country that is in the midst of Civil War. And has some looking for anything to call the rest of their bunch to arms.
A life time spent in prison wasting away would of been better. And probably caused less repercussions for US troops.
You can bet it is already being built up as a court judgement ruled by US opinions. So in the end we make Saddam what he wanted a martyer. Sp.
