I don't know about you all, but I have been waiting on So-[censored] Insane's execution since 1990!! I really believe this man is the Devil himself!! News wires are reporting that it is only hour away.

I'm mixed on this.
He was a barbarian. Cruel. No ethics. Inhumane treatment of the Kurds. Murderer. Torturer. Essentially thought he was God.

Despite all this, I feel it's wrong to take "joy" out of his death. In general I oppose the death penalty. Two wrongs dont make a right.
But execution is the ruling - there was no stay; just get it over with and don't make it a celebration. I for one won't be dancing on any graves.

Strangly (sp) I agree with you, Im more for the death penatly in almost all circumstances, Im just afraid we may pour gasoline on a fire. What he allowed to happen against the kurds is beyond belief, but still, what will happen after he is gone?

Right - It's not going to help our guys that are over there for his (many) supporters to see Americans throwing parties and celebrations and whooping it up when Saddam is executed.

As I said, he was a despicable person - no doubt.
I oppose the death penalty, but that part is only my opinion.

The issue I'm taking is with the grand celebration over the death of a human by the Americans.
And as my previous post said - it's sure not going to help the troops that are already there. I just wonder how many more are going to die because his supporters are further enraged by the celebration.

This should not be a debate for----or against capital punishment. This is the Law for the Iraqi people and as such, we should honor their Laws over there. What if the tables were turned and it was our country who was being ruled by a mindless tyrant? Remember also, had Hitler lived, he more than likely would have been executed as well, by us the (allied) forces. After all, we did execute many during the War Crimes Tribunal after WWII. If you weren't there in Desert Storm, you really don't know how those people lived: in constant fear of retaliation from their own government. What the soldier sees now is the aftermath of war. Just read the history books on the civil war in our own country.
