Yes I oppose the death penalty (regardless of which country's law it is), but that's not the argument I'm trying to make here.
In this particular argument, so many folks are trying to justify why celebrating his death is a good thing.
You cannot convince me that it's appropriate.

If this particular sentence had to be carried out - just carry it out and go on. We dont have to be like Saddam was and take joy in murder - we can be a little better than him.

how about "thou shalt not kill"?
And again - my point is not about the execution - it's the disgusting celebration of the hanging of a human.
A celebration that is only going to enrage loyalists so that they go out and pick off more American troops in retaliation.

God also sent his people into wars, and in most wars, people kill people. Since technically we are at war, I could see it.

However, the point being kind of missed is...we didn't kill him. He was tried by and Iraqi court, right?

No no, not my point.
It doesn't matter who put the noose around his neck.
We Americans, the country that is occupying Iraq, the country that has thousands of troops in Iraq, the ones that hunted him down and dragged him out in the first place, is acting no different than Saddam himself by celebrating an 'execution.'
CNN today already reported an increase troop casualties and increasing violence today, especially south of Baghdad. 109 dead so far this month and the count is only rising.
